REGISTRATION
How to register.
Join the team
All junior and youth players at Griffithstown AFC must be registered with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) through the FAW COMET registration system.
Registration must be completed every season. Players cannot take part in organised matches until their registration has been approved by the FAW.
As part of the registration process, players are also covered by personal insurance while participating in official training sessions and matches sanctioned by the Torfaen League or Gwent County FA.
Existing players
If you are already registered with Griffithstown AFC, your registration will be renewed automatically for the new season.
You do not need to complete a new registration form.
New players
If you are joining Griffithstown AFC for the first time, your team manager or coach will provide you (or your parent/guardian) with a link to complete a COMET registration form online.
The form can be completed on a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Before you start
Please have the following ready:
-
Player details
-
Parent/guardian details (where applicable)
-
A recent passport-style photo of the player (head and shoulders only)
A clear selfie is acceptable, provided it is in focus and has a plain, uncluttered background.
Completing the form
-
Complete all sections of the registration form.
-
Upload the player's photo.
-
Submit the form.
Once submitted, the information will be sent to the Club COMET Officer (Kelly Bell), who will upload the details to the FAW COMET system.
Confirming your registration
After your details have been processed, you will receive an email from FAW COMET containing your registration form.
Please:
-
Check that all information is correct.
-
Sign and date the form.
-
Return the completed form to the Club COMET Officer (Kelly Bell).
Please do not reply to or return the form to the FAW COMET email address.
Registration approval
Once the signed form has been received, it will be resubmitted to the FAW for final approval.
When your registration has been confirmed, the FAW will issue:
-
An FAW Player ID Card
-
Player insurance documentation
Please inform your team manager when you have received your Player ID Card.
Once registration has been approved, the player will be eligible to participate in all organised matches for Griffithstown AFC.
